We are pleased to announce our June 2020 webinars focused on mental health as a part of our ASYD 2020 Webinar Series! Registration for each of these trainings is now open.

Ending the Silence
Date: June 16
Time: 1 – 2:30 pm
Facilitator: NAMI Georgia
Description: NAMI Ending the Silence (ETS) is a mental health awareness program that instills a message of hope and recovery and encourages youth development professionals to reduce stigma and end the silence surrounding mental illness. Participants will learn how to recognize the early warning signs of mental illness and what to do if a young person is exhibiting these signs. Delivered by a trained two-person team, one of whom is a young adult living in recovery with a mental health condition, the program provides resources and tools to support those who may be experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.

QPR
Date: June 18
Time: 1 – 2:30 pm
Facilitator: GUIDE, Inc.
Description: QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling or neighbor. This interactive webinar will cover the steps you need to know to save lives!
